Our story

A little piece of home, tucked into East York.

Zoma is a Black Canadian, women‑owned salon on the Danforth. The room is painted in the warm terracotta of an Addis afternoon, hand‑carved wooden pieces watch over the mirrors, and the light is the kind that makes everyone look their best in the chair.

We built this space to be more than a salon — a place where natural hair is treated as it deserves to be, where braiders take the time your style is worth, and where every guest, from every background, walks in as a stranger and leaves as a regular.

Inside Zoma Beauty Salon on the Danforth — warm terracotta walls, hand‑carved wooden art, a client with fresh French braids in the chair.
Every braid, every twist, every treatment — carried out in a room made warm on purpose. — The Zoma team
The chair, the craft

A full menu for every hair story.

From protective styles that hold for weeks to the treatments that keep your natural hair thriving in between. Every service is by appointment — call and we'll match you with the stylist who fits your goal.

Braids

Box braids, knotless, cornrows, feed‑ins, French braids, tribal patterns, kids' styles — done with the tension your scalp will thank us for.

All lengths & textures

Weaves & extensions

Sew‑ins, closures, frontals, quick weaves and custom installs — blended so cleanly the only thing anyone will notice is the volume.

Full & partial installs

Twists & protective styles

Two‑strand twists, Senegalese twists, passion twists, faux locs and Marley styles — the low‑manipulation route to length retention.

Weeks of easy wear

Natural hair treatments

Deep conditioning, hot‑oil, scalp care, trims and moisture routines — the between‑style work that keeps hair strong, hydrated and growing.

Health first, always

Wash, blow‑out & silk press

A proper wash day at last — clarifying shampoo, deep condition, and a bounce‑back blow‑out or a heat‑safe silk press with a mirror finish.

Fresh, from root to end

Beauty & finishing

Makeup, brows and finishing touches for the days you want everything in one place — weddings, graduations, portraits, and every other reason.

Meet the hands

Ask for Elisabeth or Isther.

Two of the reasons Zoma keeps its 4.8‑star reputation. Both are known for their patience with fine, textured and protective styles, and both take their time to get it right.

Elisabeth

Senior braider & stylist

Neat, tight, and gentle on your edges — Elisabeth is the one guests come back to for knotless braids, cornrows and long install days that never feel rushed.

Isther

Braider & protective‑style specialist

Twists, faux locs, sew‑ins and every kind of protective style — Isther is loved for her eye for shape and how comfortably a fresh install sits on day one.
